Interesting Snapshots of Digital Ireland
IAB Ireland have commissioned Amarach Research to compile a Digital Economy document called ‘Invisible Digital’ which maps the digital trends up to 2016.
This is a highly graphical report which presents some interesting snapshots of consumer attitudes and trends.
One alarming statistic is that 75% of online sales go overseas. Another statistic – and this one is unsurprising – is that while a high majority of people claim that digital brands and services have generally made their lives easier, 45% of people state that Mobile Networks have made their life harder. Another quirky fact is that Ireland scores highly for researching products offline and then buying them online – 58% compared to late 40s (%) of respondents in comparative EU countries, except for Poland which scored 74% (to borrow an Americanism: go figure).
