Now why didn’t I Think of That!
The Apple Store charts can seem like an unassailable peak to your average entrepreneurial app developer, but an Irish photographer has proven that a great idea can (in the space of just one week) scale those charts.

It helps if the app meets a huge need, and does so in a simple and effective manner. John Mc Hugh has developed an App with which you can add a Watermark and copyright and contact data to your photos before sharing them to social media sites. There are apps out there that do something similar – yet less effectively. John Mc Hugh, as a photo journalist, has approached the build of this app from a photographer’s perspective.
This is a timely app. The hold we have over our content is being increasingly loosened; social media sites appear to be making moves to appropriate their users’ images and use them without any regard to intellectual property rights. And there have already been allegations that Instagram is making such moves – specifically through a recent change in their Terms and Conditions.
The App is called Marksta and more information can be accessed here.
It can be downloaded for IOS here.
As of yet, there does not appear to be any version for Android users.
