Digital Biscuit
Digital Biscuit, the three day event that has as its strap line ‘Enabling Creativity for Screen’ is running from the 24 – 26 of this month. You can expect interviews, talks, workshops, product launches and more.
The event will host a number of international acclaimed film industry professionals who are at the forefront of new digital filmmaking techniques, including David Yates (Director Harry Potter Series), Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, The Field), Robert Levine (Author of ‘The Free Ride’), Richard Baneham (VFX Avatar), Chris Nee (Creator of Disney Junior’s ‘Doc McStuffins’), Darragh O’Connell (Brown Bag Films) and Ciaran Donnelly (Director Tudors, Vikings).
To quote the blurb – ‘Digital Biscuit is an event of combined programmed talks and technology expositions over three days. National and global industry leaders will come together to ignite the creative industry by focusing on Ireland’s capabilities as a creative and technological leader in innovative and television production.’
Digital Biscuit kicks off on Thursday 24 with a Press Launch at the Science Gallery Dublin and
a screening of documentary Side by Side produced by Justin Szlasa and Keanu Reeves at the IFI.
On the 24th and 25th the KinoPlay public open space at the Digital Biscuit will exhibit the foremost leaders of industry technology including Canon, Autodesk, Arri, Wacom, HP, Apple, Sony and RED. There will also be 20 free workshops for special partner presentations, product launches, training classes with and networking. (The Kinoplay Area is not ticketed and open to public at all times, however you need to register for the workshops )
There is also a Filmmaking Competition for film enthusiasts – creating a short film on the theme ‘Love and Technology’, filmed on site from 23rd – 25th January. Application Deadline 20 Jan 2013, 2pm – all details can be found here
