Elaine Bresnan is Business Development Executive at the AD2ONE Group where she has worked since February 2010.
Company: The AD2ONE Group is an independently owned collection of digital sales and marketing agencies, trading for over eight years. The group focuses on third party digital ad sales, SEO and creative services. www.ad2onegroup.com/ire
Job description: I am responsible for the generation of business development and also for seeking out new online opportunities, dealing with agencies and finding effective solutions for advertising campaigns.
Likes: Ad2one is a growing and proactive company to work for. It is exciting to work for a company that represents global and recognised brands including Disney, EBay and Ryanair. They also have excellent scope in both England and Northern Ireland. I enjoy building relationships with clients and helping to create solutions and ideas for campaigns. The online industry is also a fast moving, dynamic and exciting industry to work in.
Career ladder: After finishing college in 2003 I decided to take a year off to travel the world. I spent 9 months travelling and working around Australia but I also spent time in Asia, New Zealand and Fiji. On my return, I moved to Dublin from Cork where I began working in Bank of Scotland Ireland as a Business Support Administrator in the Asset Finance Division. After two years, I was promoted to the sales division where I worked as a Sales Executive in Motor, Commercial and Corporate Finance.
After spending 3 years in the bank I decided I needed a change and took on the role as the Corporate Account Manager in Menupages.ie. I was responsible for business development selling direct to both brands and agencies. I identified and negotiated new sponsorship and marketing opportunities and also designed and managed advertising campaigns for many top Irish brands.
Qualifications: I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree and a Diploma in Event Management.
Working hours: I start every morning at 9am and finish between 5.30 and 6pm, depending on how busy I am.
Breaktime: I live very close to the office in Ballsbridge so I regularly go home on my lunch break to grab a quick bite to eat. On Fridays, however I like to eat out somewhere nice with my colleagues. Roly’s Bistro is always a good choice!
Social media credentials: I love using Facebook and MySpace. Facebook is brilliant for keeping in contact with friends, email, uploading and sharing photos, etc. I log on a few times during the day. I am also a fan of MySpace. This is a fantastic way for keeping up to date with new music and watching new music videos. I am also a regular user of LinkedIn for networking and business purposes.
News: DailyMail.co.uk is a great website for catching up on all the TV, celebrity and showbiz news. Guardian.co.uk is also a must for the latest news, travel and business headlines every day.
Onsite or offsite: I am usually based in the office but I like to get out and meet clients as much as I can. I try to have five to six meetings a week. Face-to-face contact is essential for building up good relationships with clients, listening to objectives and creating proactive solutions for campaigns.
