  • How influential are you on Twitter

    Whether or not you regard yourself as a member of the Twitterati or are just embarking on your Twitter journey, it may be worthwhile checking out how you match up against others on Tweetlevel.com.

    Considering recruiters research candidates online through social media, seeing how effective somebody is on Twitter may become more important – for any job role.
    Tweetlevel is a new free measurement tool that calculates someone’s importance on Twitter and has been developed by Edelman, one of the world’s leading PR agencies. It uses a unique algorithm which takes into account the quality and quantity of someone’s tweets, how engaged and trusted a tweeter is, as well as how popular they are.

    Each score is rated out of 100 – in other words, the higher your score, the more important you are. It is calculated using the following metrics:

    * Influence – what you say is interesting and many people listen to it. This is the primary ranking metric;
    * Popularity – how many people follow you;
    * Engagement – how actively you participate within your community;
    * Trust – do people believe what you say.

    TweetLevel allows individuals the opportunity to compare their own importance in the Twittersphere to that of their friends, colleagues and others they choose to follow on Twitter. Also use Graham Linehan (of Father Ted and The IT Crowd fame) as a benchmark, he was Ireland’s most influential celebrity twitterer with a score of 73, according to Tweetlevel.
