Shyfter – “Share Your Feeds Togetherâ€, is a social RSS feeds reader – you can create your own profile, fill it nicely with the feeds from blogs that you already know and like, and then add the ones you find in your friends profiles – or “pocket†those that you come across browsing the popular feeds. Sharing the Feeds is the key to understanding what you might use it for.
How is it different to the Google reader then?
Well, Shyfter allows its users to discuss the content that is read – not by going back to the original blog page and posting a comment linked to your profile there, no. You can start a discussion on someone’s post, which is nicely “feednapped†into your Shyfter page, and that discussion may well continue, with hundreds of people joining in, denying the author the joy of having all that where it belongs – where his content is.
Not all bloggers are worried about their posts living outside their pages though, some of them even say this is the next step, the blog 3.0, and has to be embraced, and of course, you can follow the discussion on Shyfter
